Rabies

The Forsyth County Health Department investigates animal exposures to determine if there is a risk of rabies. Dogs and cats that bite or scratch people must be observed for ten days. Any contact with a wild animal including bats, raccoons, skunks, foxes, or coyotes should be reported to our office. We are available to consult between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. After hours the incident should be reported to Georgia Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222
